IT’S TIME TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR OUR WASTE, OUR CITY!
Studies have shown that if we continue to dump untreated garbage at the current rate, we will need a 66,000 hectares landfill by 2030. This is nearly 90% of Bengaluru city’s area.
If we all start composting and channeling the useful organic waste to be used in our farms it can keep our neighborhoods clean, our soil healthier and our food safe.
Ever wondered how much waste comes out of our kitchen and where it all goes everyday?
The Leftover rotten food, vegetable peels, sanitary waste, lots of plastic and glass bottles we mix everything and dump them all in one dustbin.
While we do that, we are denying ourselves from clean neighborhoods and safe food.
It is high time we take responsibility.
The key is to segregate the waste. After all, once it is mixed, it cannot be fixed. Separating banana peels from a plastic packet, and putting it in different bins will not take much of your time and effort.

It’s never too late; let’s start this movement together.
While spoilt leftovers are neither appealing to our eyes nor nose, it helps in nourishing the soil. Around 60% of the waste we produce, can be composted and used as soil manure.
If we all start composting and channeling the useful organic waste to be used in our farms it can keep our neighborhoods clean, our soil healthier and our food safe.
Every day, we generate a huge amount of waste that piles up in our neighbourhood. It eventually ends up in landfills and oceans.
We can start taking responsibility of our waste by segregating them. Separating wet waste from the rest gives us the organic matter that can instead be composted and used to make our soil fertile.
Let’s take the effort to segregate our wet waste and compost them. This will keep our soil rich, our farmers smiling and our neighborhood beautiful.
