Clean Air Nation

India is on the world map again,
FIFA U17 World Cup is here!

To keep check on air pollution during the matches, few measures (not comprehensive permanent solutions) such as – more stations to monitor ambient air quality, shifting match-venues to less polluted cities, check on stubble burning around the venue along with few more actions have been suggested. This is commendable! These measures are good quick fixes but may not necessarily ensure breathable air quality. The actions need to be more comprehensive, systematic and regional.

Only specific cities who are currently in the international spotlight due to FIFA U17 World Cup are trying to find partial solutions to the health emergency which may not ensure breathable air quality.

Let us demand from our Honorable Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan a National Clean Air Action plan that has implementable, comprehensive, holistic responsive solutions to breathable air quality levels, not just in cities that get international attention but across India, all through the year.
