The Greenpeace activists you are suing were carrying out a peaceful protest. Your attempt to intimidate them for exercising their protected right to free expression is outrageous.

The activists were demanding that Shell stop drilling new oil and gas because it will only fuel more disaster weather events around the world and to pay compensation to the countries already facing the brunt of the crisis. They were compelled to do this because they’ve seen the direction the company has taken since you’ve become CEO - abandoning plans to cut fossil fuel production, slashing investment in renewables, and continuing to explore for new oil and gas.

You should drop your intimidation lawsuit and start listening to the common sense demands of the Greenpeace activists you are suing.

Over 260,000 people have already signed Greenpeace’s open letter calling Shell out for this legal intimidation, millions of people have seen the viral videos slamming your lawsuit, and thousands of people have chipped in to help Greenpeace fight the case in the courts. The public are clearly against you on this - it’s time you start listening to them!

SHELL CEO: DROP THE LAWSUIT AGAINST GREENPEACE!

The oil giant Shell is suing Greenpeace for millions of dollars because of a peaceful climate protest.

In a few day's time a hearing will take place where the judge will set a date for the lawsuit to go to trial. This is one of the biggest oil companies in the world suing Greenpeace for a peaceful climate protest - it’s a huge threat to our future. We need to ramp up the pressure on Shell to drop the case before it gets any further and drains any more of our resources.

Please can you take a minute to email Shell’s CEO calling on him to drop the lawsuit against Greenpeace? If enough people email the CEO before our day in court, we can show him that his lawsuit is a PR disaster for both him and Shell.
