She’s only gone and done it. Chancellor Rachel Reeves has announced that the government is backing a third runway at Heathrow - on top of expansions already planned at other UK airports. Expansions that not only will wreak more havoc on the climate - but also won’t create the kind of economic growth our country needs.

These expansions to Luton, Gatwick and Heathrow airports will mostly benefit the wealthy frequent flyers and airline bosses - leaving the rest of us to pay billions for the costs of new roads and runaways, and more storms and floods at home.

There are so many amazing ways to revive the UK economy - such as investing in green industries that can bring economic and social benefits for years to come, like secure jobs, affordable energy bills and cheaper, better transport. But this isn’t one of them.

We think this is an unacceptable way to spend taxpayers’ money. That’s why we’re asking our MPs to demand that Rachel Reeves drop these disastrous plans. Join us.
