Do Not Backslide on Plastic

ACT Now and tell the Kenyan government to protect Africa’s progress against plastic pollution

As if our environment isn’t already covered in plastic pollution, the American Chemistry Council (ACC) wants to flood Kenya with plastic, and then sell recycling as a solution - which data has proven to be a untrue - to the major problem they will create!

The Council, which made up of a variety of entities, including petrochemical companies, wants the US Trade Representative to include terms in the upcoming US-Kenya trade agreement making it easier to export plastic to Kenya. This is despite Kenya’s new plastic bans!

The Council sees Kenya as the gateway to Africa! They are not just threatening to derail Kenya’s plastic-free ambitions but the progress made across the African continent.
