Tell George Eustice: ban destructive fishing from protected waters

Breaking: activists have stopped a supertrawler fishing in Central Fladen - a Marine Protected Area off the coast of Scotland. The industrial fishing vessel pulled up its nets as climbers installed a banner with a clear message on it: ban supertrawlers now

The government claims it's an ocean protector, but continues to allow destructive fishing in areas designed to protect important marine habitats and species. Our investigation exposed supertrawlers have fished in UK Marine Protected Areas for a total of 5590 hours this year - the equivalent of 7 months.

It’s time for Environment Secretary George Eustice to do his duty and properly protect these ecologically important areas by banning all destructive industrial fishing in them.
